How it Works
What is digital transcription?
Digital transcription is a system whereby ‘voice files’ can be transmitted over a computer network (in the form of an emailed attachment or via a secure FTP website or PKI certification) to a recipient who has the digital software installed on their computer. The voice file is accessed via the digital software and transcribed as an MS Word document by using earphones and foot pedal connected to the computer. Upon completion, the Word document is then emailed back to the sender for reviewing/editing and/or printing.
What is an FTP Internet site?
An FTP site is a website where files are uploaded in a password-protected directory. This means these files can only be accessed by a unique username and password, and only given to those who have authorised access to the folder and its contents. Each client of DTS is allocated a log on (username and password) which is unique to their business.
What is PKI Certification?
PKI (Public Key Inscription) is a Health Industry Encryption Security System enabling confidential patient details to be transmitted with total security. Specifically, the Health Insurance Commission provides health care organisations with a PKI certificate which enables confidential medical information to be sent and received in an encrypted form, so while they are in the public domain they are unreadable. For those medical clients who don’t have a PKI certificate, DTS can offer them the option of downloading their voice files onto a secure FTP site.
Meeting Difficult Deadlines
DTS has strategies in place to ensure it can ‘go the extra mile’ for all clients. This involves a team of first class transcription typists standing by ready to meet difficult deadlines.
Unlike temporary staff or Secretarial Services, DTS is available 24/7.
